Dick Cheney couldn't have been clearer when he recently warned that Iran would face "serious consequences" if they didn't abandon their nuclear weapons programme.
What that sly, bald-headed, diseased devil wasn't letting on was that his own government's intelligence services reported that Iran halted its nuclear weapons programme in 2003.
Well that's perfect. They've had it shut down for four years. Why, after that long, they must be getting ready to get their bomb factories up and running again any day now. Best we bomb'em flat first, huh? Just to be on the safe side.
Uber-weasel, National Security Advisor Stephen Hadley, spun this bad news as only a devout neo-con could:
"It confirms that we were right to be worried about Iran seeking to develop nuclear weapons. It tells us that we have made progress in trying to ensure that this does not happen. But the intelligence also tells us that the risk of Iran acquiring a nuclear weapon remains a very serious problem."
